The Broadside Lotus Press Poets Theater writing workshops resume on Jan 19,2020, 3:00 -5:30 p.m at U of D-Mercy's Grounds Coffe Haus in the lower level of the Student Union. Free and open to the public. Bring works in progress for feedback or write new poems. Enter at McNichols, drive to the Livernois side past the guard booth to the parking lot, the building is on the right side.

2019 Annual Motown Mic Spoken Word Contest at Motown Museum Detroit, MI
Attention Poets!
For 2019, every Friday in March, the Motown Museum has a spoken word contest called "Motown Mic". Poets compete for the highest points and are judged by 4 judges. 8:00 p.m. -10:00 p.m.
Winners advanced to the Grand Finale for a grand prize of $1000.00 and publication on a broadside by Detroit's Broadside Lotus Press! The contest is in its sixth year and I have been happy to serve as one of the judges!
The Motown Museum is located on West Grand Boulevard in Detroit. The site is east of Rosa Parks Boulevard and west of Woodward and the John C. Lodge Expressway (M-10).
